Wedding Day started early for most of us except for the bride and groom who got to get some extra rest. Taara and I left with the maids in the morning to decorate the Reception hall. We decapitated a bunch of roses and set them up with candles for the table arrangements.
Here's the Mastermind at work:
Taara showed Fatima and Lenny her creative plan:
Stephanie, the maid's daughter, helped out. She's 12 years old.
The table centerpieces are all done!
This took a couple hours and then we went back home to get beautiful. Grace had a whole day at the spa arranged for herself and was accompanied by Aline (apparently this is normal for the brides of Brazil) so she was gone by the time I got home. Ruth, Taara, Jenn, Mom, and I all helped each other with hair/make-up/dresses.
Here's Ruth and I all ready to go!
If you are scandalized by the backs of our dresses, you can take it up with Nellie and Solano. They both gave their okays.
In order for us all to get to the church on time, Ruth, Jenn, and I had to take a cab to the wedding, so Uncle Solano found a respectable driver and put the three of us in. Here we are on our journey:
After we got to the church, we practiced our song again and finished some last minute decorating details.
Here is Taara in all her regal motherly glory:
Then we girls were able to go across the street and find Grace at the Bridal Spa. She was completely surrounded by people when we got there! I couldn't believe it! 2 people working on her hair, a girl standing there doing nothing, the photographer, the videographer, and the manicurist. We managed to sneak in through the crowd and get a photo and a few kisses.
Thankfully we got to kick out most of the crowd to help Grace get into her dress, and the beautiful girl was transformed into a bride.
Hi Charissa, did you know we were fellow bloggers? I only just found out! Wedding are such a fun blessing. All the work makes them all the more enjoyable and appreciated in the end. :) I love her gown, so elegant and modest. And your dress is really gorgeous too! It's is really fancy and exciting at the same time. Very Charissa-ish. <3
