It's been 8 months since I ended my almost 2 year job as a Nanny for 3 boys. Last weekend I got to jump back in and spend some time with "my boys" while their parents were away for a weekend. I still see 2 of the boys when I do recess once a week at their school, but it was great to be able to spend a couple days catching up with their lives. They've all grown up so much in just a few months! Now they are 9, 11, and 15.
This was a special weekend because Luke was invited to a class birthday party at Chuck E. Cheese and Phillip and I got to go along and play while Luke was at the party. I'm almost ashamed to admit that Phillip and I almost finished a whole pizza together (I didn't get lunch that day! ha!) and their parents left plenty of money for us to play our little hearts out.
The funniest part of the evening was how many people I actually knew there! I felt like I knew half the kids/parents in the place. I knew all the kids at the party from recess and church and there were also some Springfield kids there for another party. I think all the kids were shocked to see their recess teacher there, but once they were over their shock, I got some pretty great hugs. But seriously, where else would I be on a Friday night??
Phillip and Luke save up their tickets for months and then are able to spend them on bigger prizes. They were pretty pleased with the snakes they walked away with!
Saturday morning we headed out to the Air Force Base for the various sports the boys are involved in. First: Bowling League. All three boys are in the league. Tom is pretty good at it.
Then I magically turned into a soccer mom--thankfully, my car didn't change from a mini-cooper to a mini-van. ;-)
They won their game as I watched with a huge umbrella since it was one of those wonderful rainy Saturdays. After the busy morning, we got to spend the rest of the day relaxing and watching Olympics. I must say it's a pretty great way to earn a living!
