This weekend my longtime friend Douglas came to visit me from Paris. We met at Master's 6 years ago and always have a fun time when we are able to see each other--which isn't often.
Douglas definitely wanted to try out the German cuisine:
And for dessert some German apfelstruedel was in order!
Then we made a trip to the Frankfurt zoo which was very large and even had a few animals that I don't think I have ever seen. Perhaps the highlight was discovering a Mexican restaurant in the zoo. I have been missing my chips and salsa!!
After church on Sunday, Douglas whipped up some lunch for Jennifer and I to enjoy. He is especially talented in the kitchen. We made it simple for lack of time to shop for better ingredients, but it was delicious still!
At the end of the weekend, we went back to the train station to send Douglas back to Paris. I was so glad to see a familiar face here in Frankfurt and spend some quality time with a good friend. Thanks for coming, Douglas!
