Our New Home: The Outside

Without further adieu, here is a tour of the outside of our new home. At our last place we didn't even have a yard to call our own and we now have 5 acres to take care of.

This is the back side of the house which is the entrance we use most often. The building on the right is our detached garage and you can see our yard and part of the garden.

Back door that we use most often:

Side of the house. You can see the front porch on the left:

Other side of the house with our cute chimney. We have a view of Mt. Hood from the front porch. If you squint, you can see it below to the left of the porch pole and above the green bush.

We have a barn! This is the little potting shed that is attached.

One of our apple trees:

This is the barn and part of the yard. Sadly, they didn't leave the vintage Chevy for us.

This is our Aviary. Yes, we have an aviary! The previous owner was quite the bird fanatic and housed peacocks and emus in here. We might try our hand at chickens at least. :)

I'm not exaggerating when I say that this guy was a bird fanatic. This is in our driveway. Our house is famous to anyone who has lived in our area for the last 20 years.

A view back towards our house from the back pastures. The red buildings belong to our neighbor. What you see on the left is our barn and aviary.

A little home for our possible future goats? This is in a fenced in pasture closer to the house.

We got to move in with a growing garden! It has been really nice to enjoy the fresh produce without having to do much work this year! Definite bonus.

Onions, carrots, potatoes, tomatoes, lettuce, zucchini, green beans, peppers, cucumbers, corn, and sunflowers!

Little pool that our dog likes to splash in. Notice the birdhouses behind.

The bird condos:

And more houses...The top bubble says, "It's all about the birds." yup...

Keeping inline with the bird theme: Our little sign from Grace and Andre fits in perfectly! I love my little window planters that I found in the potting shed. I spraypainted them blue and then Talitha helped me plant some pretty flowers in them.

Our new place feels like we are in the country even though we are just minutes from the freeway. The best of both worlds! This is the horse riding trail that is just down the road from our house. Our new walking path.
