All You Single Ladies...
...Put your hands up!...wait...before you start the dance party I have something for you to read. Autumn shared this Carolyn McCulley article with me and I think it is insightful for all you single ladies--but also for you marrieds to counsel fellow believers in this way. Ch-ch-check it out here.

For My Sister
We are enjoying a lavish bush of lilacs this year! They always make me think of my sister, Karen, because lilacs are her favorite!

Laptop Sweaters
Well I whipped out my second laptop sweater bag. This one was for my friend Autumn who is just weeks away from completing her Masters degree. Since she has a few more weeks of constant companionship with her computer, I thought I'd give her this graduation gift a little early so she can actually use it while she's still in school.
I saw the idea for this embroidery in a book and hand stitched it on after I sewed the bag.
This was my original sketch to make sure I could reproduce the flowers as well as they looked in my head. It worked. :-)
AND this was the best thing I saw this week...I inspired Jesse to make his own laptop bag. He sent me this photo of the finished project. He's adventurous and he can sew! What a guy! Go check out his new business: http://goattours.com/
Happy Birthday Pops!
Today is my dad's birthday! I'm so thankful for my dad and his active role in my life. Looking forward to celebrating today with the family--including his grandchildren who adore him. Love you, Dad! Happy birthday!

Precious Little Gifts
A little joy from my students: piles of flowers given to me every recess. The great part is I get to be just as thankful for the half dead ones as the beautiful ones and show just as much gratitude to the 5th child who fills my hands with flowers as I did to the first.
Here's my collection from today after just 5 minutes of being outside with the kiddos.

It puts a smile on my face so I thought I'd share my joy with you. :-)
